The South China Nature Society is a growing movement of student conservationists & animal rights activists that is looking to change the Chinese consumer appetite for endangered animals. This appetite is due to centuries old traditions and beliefs in the properties of plants and animals, such as “Cobra meat improves vitality” and “turtle meat cures cancer”. They are working in Guangzhou, which has become an international hub for illegal wildlife trade.
