Ever wonder wonder how much weight a pet turtle or tortoise can carry or push? I wonder too. I assume it would vary depending on the specific turtles’ size, age, and specie. In any case, here’s a video of a young pet African Spur-thighed (sulcata) walking around, pushing a ten pound weight…

Sulcata turtles grow to 2 feet & a half, weigh up to around 30 pounds, and live around 50 years.

  1. Surely the intention was innocent but when I reflect on this posting I ask myself if the turtle is our entertainment?…No they have a shell for their welfare with the trade-off in carrying their lifelong heavy shell.

If this was a dog or cat? What responses will that invoke?

Happy Holidays and loving-kindness to all and everyone/everything.
