Description
Olive brown in color. Adults grow up to 3-5″ in length. The head has yellow stripes from the eyes down the neck.




Habitat
Shallow waters. Swam areas with large land areas for basking. Likes to dig and wallow in mud near aquatic plants.

Diet
Mainly carnivorous. Diet ranges from small fish to crawfish, worms and in captivity: small pellets.

Breeding
Mainly done under water but eggs are laid on land.

  1. What do I do to care for an egg laid in the water? Don’t have a place my 3 turtles get out of water but a big flat rock slab. No sand or bedding.
