Electric yellow cichlids (Labidochromis Caeruleus) is also known as the yellow lab and lemon drop cichlid. They are a type of fish that I’d kept in the past.
They are a non-aggressive mbuna cichlid originating from Lake Malawi in Africa. They are an attractive bright yellow color, prefer rocks and caves, and grow to 6-8″ in length.
I bought them specifically to be kept with my two red eared slider turtles. They are an alert and quick swimming fish, which are essential for picking fish to live with turtles. Based on some reviews, I got four electric yellow cichlids and placed them with my turtles. They survived a looong time with them, but they started getting eaten in about a year. I have no idea how my turtles were able to catch them.
